Hurt Family Investments (HFI) holds multiple asset classes, including early-stage venture investments. Currently on the early-stage side, we are involved in 135 startups, mostly based in Austin, and 42 VC funds. All investments are made with the support of my wife, Debra, who helped me start Coremetrics and is extraordinarily savvy in tech (not to mention I've pitched all six of my own businesses to her as an entrepreneur myself and got her blessing first). Our primary goal at HFI is to help early-stage entrepreneurs establish and then scale their company to create a lot of jobs and economic and karmic ripples.
